All ships have a hierarchy, so some would ask, what rank allows you to do what? That shall be outlined here.
Exceptions to the above list is only granted in emergency situations, eg the Commanding Officer, First Officer, Second Officer, and Third Officer are all dead.
The below is the ranks allowed on this site from lowest to highest (known equivalent of non-starfleet power in parenthesis):
Higher ranked applications will be expected to be better, by the time you reach Fleet Admiral we expect an over-the-top application.
- Other officers - crewman or higher
- Helmsman - Ensign and higher
- Operations Officer - Ensign and higher
- Ships Counselor - Lieutenant junior grade and higher
- Science Officer - Lieutenant and higher
- Tactical Officer - Lieutenant and higher
- Chief of Security - Lieutenant and higher
- Chief Engineer - Lieutenant and higher
- Third Officer - Lieutenant and higher, must be a department head (any senior staff position other than Commanding Officer and First Officer)
- Second Officer - Lieutenant Commander and higher, must be a department head (any senior staff position other than Commanding Officer and First Officer)
- First Officer - Commander and higher
- Commanding Officer - Captain and higher
